WELCOME TO ROOM TŪĪ

Kia ora, Welcome to Room Tui. My name is Paul Mills.
Room Tui teaching this year will be shared by myself and my wife Sharee. Sharee will be learning assistant during the week.
We have lived in Taumarunui for over 20 years and both share a love for teaching. We have 3 adult children that have been through a local primary school and the local High school.
I have been teaching for 19 years. I have had the privilege of teaching a variety of students at different levels, in different schools in the district. I strongly believe that children need to learn life skills and build their general knowledge alongside their academic goals. I like to provide a meaningful curriculum that gives children a chance to share their interests. I also enjoy teaching The Arts, Music and Science based lessons. We are looking forward to implementing the UFLI literacy program this year.
Hey there, my career started when I worked in early childhood education for several years, I then had a break to take care of my own babies. When my youngest started school, I came to work at Turaki. I have been here now for 14 years working as a Learning Assistant. I absolutely love my job and have worked with a range of students across the school over the years, predominantly children with special needs. I thoroughly enjoy the Arts, especially visual and drama. I'm looking forward to getting to know our Room Tui tamariki this year and having lots of learning experiences and fun together.
